THE KATY DEPOT
The Katy Depot is located on Highway 56 on the east end of Council Grove Kansas, and operates within an
original "Missouri, Kansas & Texas train station. This particular "M-K-T" railroad depot was first built in 1869

This was during a time when the Katy and "DOWNTOWN" Council Grove were
connected by a horse drawn street car line. The first train arrived at
this station on December 31st, 1894 during a time when the Katy Depot was furnished with some of the most modern amenities including "water closets" for both men and women, two waiting rooms and a ticket and telegraph office.
